“Dr. V. Kumaravel obtained his MBBS from Madurai Medical College and completed MD in General Medicine from the same institution. He has broad clinical research experience and is also a principal investigator for various multinational trials. Dr. V. Kumaravel completed his MSc in Diabetes from Roehampton University, London, and his Endocrinology DNB from Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi. Dr. V. Kumaravel specialises in the prevention of childhood obesity and in setting up the islet cell transplant programme. He worked as a consultant endocrinologist in various hospitals, namely ACEER, MV Diabetes Hospital, the Indian Institute of Technology, and Madras Medical Mission. Dr. V. Kumaravel practises as a chief endocrinologist at Alpha Hospital and Research Centre. Dr. V. Kumaravel has been involved in various epidemiology trials and his passion includes the prevention of childhood obesity and setting up an islet cell transplant programme in India. Dr. V.
