The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, formerly Baroda College, is a public university in the city of Vadodara, in Gujarat state, India. Originally established as a college in 1881, it became a university in 1949 after the independence of the country. It was later renamed after its benefactor Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III, the former ruler of Baroda State. The university has its origins in the Baroda College, established in 1881 by Baroda State. The main building, which houses the Faculty of Arts, was designed by Robert Fellowes Chisholm in Indo-Saracenic architecture style, in a fusion of Indian and Byzantine arches and domes in brick and polychrome stone. The main dome on the convocation hall was modelled after the great dome of the Gol Gumbaz in Bijapur. Pratap Singh Gaekwad of Baroda (1908–1968) (the last Maharaja of the erstwhile Baroda State) founded the university in 1949 on the wishes of his grandfather, Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III (1863–1939), and settled the "Sir Sayajirao Diamond Jubilee and Memorial Trust" which exists to date, catering to the education and other needs of the people of the former Baroda State

Best university in Vadodara and I’m very lucky to part of this university. Very big campus and 13-15 faculty’s and sports facilities, big gardens,canteen and Hostel. Previously in 1881 is established as Baroda college and now it is known as The maharaja sayajirao university .

Maharaja Sayajirao Gaikwad University is One of most renowned State University in Vadodara Gujarat. I am blessed that I got admission here.

I am studying Bachelors of Engineering in mechanical engineering . We have highly educated and experienced teachers, who guides us all the way. The way our teachers make us understand a topic through presentations as well as practicals makes up job -ready and for industrial practical knowledge.

Very decent campus and other facilities like bus transportation, canteen. Learning experience is very good. Various labs for every fields are available. Every function is conducted in very well manner. Most of the festivals are also celebrated with enthusiasm.

One of the best institute for engineering and other Batchelor courses in vadodra. Huge campus... focus on education and sports too.. college staff is very supportive and helpful.

I am studying CME and because I have had interest in it. The quality is very good because most of the faculties have PhD degrees and really very knowledgeable. So, the amount of knowledge they share is sufficient for us. Faculties are really helpful and supportive.

VIER is well equipped with all the necessary facilities to carry out technical understanding and gain practical experience along with theoretical knowledge. The library is well equipped with study material relevant to the curriculum.The college has various sports facilities and extra curricular platforms.

Our VIER college have all the necessary infrastructure and facilities.our college has dedicated classrooms,smart boards, etc. Also has a big library,a big sports ground and a big canteen. The quality of teaching is appreciable. Faculty people are available at all times for any doubts or queries. They give enough motivation for students to concentrate on academics as well as other activities.
