“Dr. (Lt Gen) CS Narayanan completed his DM (Neurology) at AIIMS in 1998. He gained extensive experience leading Clinical Services, Teaching, and Research in Neurology for 20 years at the largest tertiary care centers of the Armed Forces. He rose to the rank of Lt Gen, the highest position attainable by a medical professional in the Armed Forces, and held the appointment of Dy Chief Integrated Defence Staff. He has been a crucial part of the team that established several robust neurology sub-specialty programs, including acute stroke care services, epilepsy surgery, and advanced immuno-modulatory therapies for multiple sclerosis. Dr. Narayanan has vast experience in administering botulinum toxin for various Movement Disorders. He was also part of the team that performed the first deep brain stimulation procedure in the Armed Forces in 2000. As Professor of Neurology in the largest tertiary care centers of the Armed Forces, he has been a teacher, research guide, and examiner for MD (Medicine) and DNB (Neurology) students for over 15 years in various universities.”
