A Must-Try for Authentic Kozhikode Halwa Lovers Located right in the heart of SM Street, Sankaran Bakery is one of Calicut’s iconic stops for anyone craving traditional Kozhikode halwa with a legacy that dates back generations.  What sets this place apart is the sheer variety and authenticity of its halwas. From classic wheat and coconut halwa to unique flavors like banana and green chilli, the range is impressive and caters to both first-timers and seasoned locals alike.  The texture is wonderfully sticky and rich, with each piece offering that unmistakable Malabar sweetness. The service is friendly and welcoming, often offering samples so you can decide which halwa to take home.  The shop itself is clean and well-organised, though SM Street can be a little crowded during peak hours—totally worth it for the halwa experience!

The place is located in the heart of kozhikode, the SM Street. This is the oldest Halwa shop in SM Street with a wide variety of halwas, sweets, snacks etc. The customer service is exemplary. They even kept my large halwa bag there till I finish my other shopping so that I don't have to carry the whole weight. You can actually taste the varieties and buy.

We were little confused from where to buy Kozhikodan Halwa. But this was a perfect choice as they gave us each variety and explained about their ingredients and taste. Their Rice halwa is soo soft and delicious. So do other sweets too

Best in town for a reason. They had many varieties of halwa. Almost all of them were too good. My personal favourite would we kunafa and dry fruit halwa. I would definitely recommend it. All the staffs, even the manager were friendly and recommended on trying most of the flavor and took our opinion as well.

Warm welcoming service and varieties of halwa were you won't get anywhere from Kozhikode. Tried out their newly launched variety Pistachio halwa and Kunafa halwa and many more are there. You can grab mix of halwa packets for you small group..

We visited Kozhikode recently and made sure to try its famous halwa. Based on a friend’s recommendation, we visited this shop—and it truly lived up to the hype! The halwas were delicious, available in a variety of flavors, and of excellent quality. None of them were overpriced, which made the experience even better. Highly recommended for anyone looking to try authentic Kozhikode halwa.
