2026 Update: Anand Bhawan Museum is a historic house museum dedicated to the Nehru family. Indian political leader Motilal Nehru acquired the property in the 1930s to serve as the residence of the Nehru family, after the original mansion, Swaraj Bhavan, was converted into the local headquarters of the Indian National Congress. Anand Bhawan Museum building was designed by Motilal Nehru himself, with assistance from a specialist architect sent by the Tatas. Anand Bhawan was a central hub for the Indian National Congress during India’s freedom struggle and now serves as a museum showcasing the personal belongings of the Nehru-Gandhi family. Anand Bhawan Museum collection includes a library with over 8,000 books, memorabilia from Motilal and Jawaharlal Nehru, antique household items, and the room of Indira Priyadarshini Gandhi.
