Hosting more than 2300 animals, the zoo's origins are traced back to Mr. Balfour, who initiated it on the museum premises. Within a year, the zoo boasted over 300 animals, including various significant species. Arignar Anna Zoological Park encompasses about 602 hectares. The Zoological Park includes a rescue and rehabilitation center.
