“Dehradun Zoo was built as a mini-zoological park and well-designed enclosures that provide ample space for the animals. The Zoo was formed from part of Malsi compartments 1 and 2, the reserve forest of the Malsi Range of the Dehradun Forest Division, which lies to the south. The Zoo focuses on the objectives of ex-situ wildlife conservation, the conservation of biodiversity, and the creation of an educational and wildlife rescue centre. The variety of animals, including leopards, deer, and exotic birds, was impressive, and the aviary section was a definite highlight. The zoo also has informative boards, a small museum, and eco-friendly initiatives that enhance the experience. There are washrooms and drinking water facilities available.”
