BAHU FORT

Jammu Ho, Jammu, Jammu, JK 180001 DIRECTIONS

What our experts say?
Jammu is known as the "Gateway to Heaven," and the Bahu Fort's exquisite beauty and grandeur undoubtedly play a role. The Bahu Fort is towering and sturdy on the left bank of the Tawi River, only 5 kilometres from the city's heart. This majestic fort was built over 3000 years ago by Raja Bahucholan, and it is one of the city's oldest landmarks. The fort was then renovated and enlarged by the Dogra kings. The Goddess Kali shrine is also well-known at this fort. Goddess Kali, a reincarnation of Goddess Parvati and a powerful emblem of motherly love boosted by insurmountable feminine energy, is worshipped by the people of Jammu. A temple devoted to the great Goddess Kali can be seen inside the Bahu Fort. Bave Wali Mata Shrine is how the people refer to this temple.

What our experts say?
Amar Mahal Palace Museum in Jammu serves as a landmark amid the city's diverse surroundings. This former palace still exists as a testament to the grandeur of French architecture. The palace has been transformed into a museum. This structure was created for Raja Amar Singh, a Dogra king, in the nineteenth century. This palace served as the Dogra dynasty's official residence and housed a number of historical paintings as well as a collection of antique portraits of the royal family.
