Amar Mahal Museum and Library in Jammu is a treasure trove of history, art, and culture. Once a royal palace, it showcases stunning Pahari paintings, a majestic gold throne, and a vast collection of artifacts. The library houses rare books and manuscripts, making it a haven for history lovers. The palace offers breathtaking views of the Tawi River and Himalayan ranges, perfect for photography and peaceful exploration. While the exhibits are fascinating, better maintenance and signage could enhance the experience.

Jammu City can be covered in a half day itinerary and Amar Palace is definitely on the list. We took a local rickshaw to the Palace and waiting of rickshaws on the grounds is allowed. We reached at sharp 2pm and took a wonderful guided tour of the palace heritage and inhabitants. It's more about Hari Singh and his descendants and their prized possessions. It was an honor to see the Padma Vibhushan award medal on display. Each room has a special guide.

It has a lovely view, the best conservation of Dogra history and information of the Royal family. The art collection is also glamorous.

Gol Ghar was always an awesome place to visit with your friends. I have spent a lot of time there when I was in 15 to 20.
