"Dachigam National Park is located 22 km from the Srinagar district of Jammu and Kashmir, India, on the eastern side of Dal Lake. Spanning approximately 141 sq. km, the park is situated in the Zabarwan Range of the western Himalayas, with altitudes ranging from 5,500 to 14,000 feet above sea level. Before World War I, ten villages existed in this region, giving the park its name, which means "ten villages." Dachigam is home to a rich diversity of flora, with over 500 species of herbs. Its dense forests, dominated by coniferous trees such as pine, oak, and deodar, and its vast grasslands provide vital grazing grounds for herbivores. The park offers a serene environment for nature lovers, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and outdoor meals.
