Green Park is a cricket stadium located in Kanpur. The stadium has a seating capacity of thirty thousand people and was established in 1945. The stadium was named in honour of Mrs Green, who practised horse riding in the area during the 1940s. Remarkably, Green Park Stadium is the only stadium in India with a gallery specifically open for students and boasts the world's largest manually operated scoreboard. As an International Test match venue, Green Park is administered by the Sports Department of Uttar Pradesh. The stadium has been the venue for international cricket contests, featuring matches in both Test and ODI formats. The stadium's seating capacity is 32,000 seats, and traditionally, the pitches have been favourable to spinners, leading to some outstanding performances. Video screens are used during international matches, enhancing the spectator experience. The recently constructed three-storey pavilion includes spacious dressing and dining rooms, further contributing to the stadium's modern amenities and facilities.
