Museum’s main aim is the collection, preservation, documentation and exhibition of cultural property and to make it available for educational activities as well as for creation of awareness about our glorious past.Some postal stamps, pictures, post cards, memorial coins related to the events of 1857 and latter coins are also in the collection of the museum. The museum is in the developing stages and efforts are being made to collect more specimens.

Beautiful memorial of Freedom Fighters of 1857. Very well crafted statue cluster has been installed. A red stone tablet displays names of slodiers who laid down their lives for future generations to be free of foreign rule. Hats off to them. Open all the days.

Abu Mohammed Khan was the Nawab of Meerut and a wazir (minister) in the court of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. He was an extremely important historical figure.His importance to Meerut and its history can be gauged by the fact that some of the most prominent city spots such as Abu Lane and Abu Ka Nala are named after him. His tomb was built in 1688 and it is his final resting place and that of his wife. Today, however, the tomb is in a deplorable state. Encroachment is rampant and tin huts can be seen atop the tomb. People have encroached upon the area around the historical monument and built multi-storey houses.

The year of construction of the red colored stone building Abu Ka Maqbara is recorded in history at a distance of about one kilometer from Kesarganj, Delhi Road. The domes of the building are onion shaped, while the pillars have attractive carvings. It was done by Abu Mohammad Khan Kamboh for his father Sheikh Aitmad, later his tomb was also built in it. Significantly, the prestigious Kamboh dynasty had constructed many buildings in the city. The Abu Nala was earlier the Abu Canal, which was built to supply water from the Kali River. Historian KK Sharma told that it was Abu Mohammad Khan who built the Kamboh Gate. This dynasty was directly related to the Mughal court of Delhi. Museum President Manoj Gautam told that the nine-domed building rests on 20 double pillars like a alaya. There are six tombs on the high platform, which are written in Persian language. Six bastions were also built around the tomb, all of which have been destroyed except one.
