“Sitabuldi Fort is known for its historical significance. The fort features a Ganesh Mandir, bastions, natural rock formations, prison cells, and scenic landscapes. It is a military area and is open to the public only on January 26th and August 15th. A notable highlight is the cell where Mahatma Gandhi was once imprisoned. The fort also houses a war memorial honouring soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the Battle of Sitabuldi. The construction was initiated by a British officer to commemorate fallen soldiers from the Third Anglo-Maratha War. Sitabuldi Fort remains under the guardianship of the Indian Army, preserving its deep historical significance. Entry is free for all visitors.”

“2026 Update: Zero Mile is a captivating historical landmark that was constructed during the British colonial era of the Great Trigonometrical Survey of India. The iconic landmark features a massive stone pillar and four elaborately carved horse statues, all of which add to its charm. Zero mile symbolises Nagpur's geographical significance as it is often regarded as the centre of India. Zero mile is 310.948 m high and 1,020.17 ft tall above sea level. The place consists of a pillar made up of sandstone and another representing the GTS Standard Benchmark.”

Maharaj Bagh Zoo, located in Gorepeth, Nagpur, is a delightful spot for a day out, especially for families and nature lovers. This small but well-maintained zoo offers a good variety of animals including leopards, bears, tigers, peacocks, parrots, deer, and the rare blue bull. It’s fascinating to observe these animals up close, making it a great place for children and wildlife enthusiasts. One of the highlights is the separate aquarium, which houses an array of beautiful and vibrant fish species. It's a peaceful and educational experience to wander through, adding to the diversity of the zoo’s attractions. There are also recreational areas inside the zoo, such as see-saws, rope slides, and slides, perfect for kids to enjoy. These play areas are thoughtfully placed and add a fun element to the visit. Outside the entrance, you’ll find food stalls where you can grab a quick snack or refreshment, which is convenient after exploring the zoo. The Cannon Ball tree outside the entrance is a unique attraction and definitely worth a look. It’s quite rare, and its unusual flowers and fruits are an interesting sight. Overall, Maharaj Bagh Zoo is a nice place for a short, enjoyable visit in Nagpur. It's well-suited for families, and the calm environment and decent facilities make it a pleasant experience.

Best Place to spend quality time with family or friends. I visited twice once with friends and the other time I took family to have a great day. We enjoyed watching Tiger, Leopard, Sloth Bear, Spotted Deer, Barking Deer and a variety of Fishes and Birds. You can watch alligators as well.

Great place for kids in the city! The tiger is Awesome! Would be very good if they start maintaining the place better for animals rather than maintaining the Gardens.

SITABULDI FORT REVIEWS

This place has a great historical significance. This Fort is really awesome to visit. Every Nagpurian should visit it atleast once. Tourists come here as it is a great attraction in Nagpurian. One limitation is that it is opened only on Independence Day and Republic Day.

It’s open on the second Sunday of every month and on Independence Day and Republic Day. I was lucky to be able to visit it! Lovely fort with interesting history. Takes about an hour and a half at a leisurely pace to see. Must visit highly recommend. PS: the entrance is near the railway.

Great heritage of Nagpur City. It's a big fort with a lot of rooms and bunkers to explore. Fort situated in the center of the in the centre of the city. A must visit place.

ZERO MILE REVIEWS

It was under renovation in 2024. It is just next to freedom park and metro station. One time visit.It was constructed during the time of the British Rule; it holds a great historical significance. The British used it as a starting point to measure the distance of many states and towns from Nagpur which is at the geographical heart of India. A zero mile marker is located here. A sandstone pillar and statues of four horses mark the spot

Nice place with a lot of history! The red "0 Miles" board looks good, but the area is a bit overgrown with bushes and needs better maintenance. The tower also needs some repair. Still, it's a must-visit spot if you're in Nagpur, feels great to stand at the old center point of India.
