"Warangal Fort was built in the 13th century by the Prola Raja of the great Kakatiya dynasty. The Kakatiyas ruled the place for more than 200 years. "Kush Mahal is another famous place in Warrangal. It is a grand 16th-century granite audience hall built during the Tughluq dynasty. It is located within the walls of the fort. Initially, it was constructed as an auditorium hall in the 14th century, later used by Shitab Khan, Warangal's Qutub Shahi Governor during the 16th century. The mahal is known for its architectural excellence in medieval India. It consists of longer walls on the eastern and western sides, small storage rooms on each side of the hall, sloping walls and slanting arches.
