AC College was established in 1885 in Guntur City and was one of the first colleges in India to offer graduate programs. Protestant missionaries from the U.S.A established the college. Andhra Christian College had its beginnings in the first Anglo – Vernacular school, which was already established in district collector’s compound and handed over in 1842 to Fr. Heyer who came to Guntur and established the American Evangelical Lutheran Mission in the same year. The Andhra University Act came into force in April 1926 and the first B.A. Class was admitted to the College in the following July. My late grand father Bandela Shadrack is a student from the first batch B.A.

My mom had studied here and believes to be lucky enough to be part of this alumni for which she had good foundation and is proud for many successful people graduating from here. It's been for more than 30 years and is one of the respected and oldest educational institutions.
