National Institute of Technology Patna was formerly known as Bihar School of Engineering and Bihar College of Engineering. Pradip K. Jain is the director of the college. National Institute of Technology Patna campus affords multiple facilities to its students, from hostel accommodations to placement divisions. The college was ranked in the 151–200 band among India's engineering colleges by the National Institutional Ranking Framework in 2018. National Institute of Technology Patna aims to set very high educational standards and has a long record of academic excellence. 2026 Update: National Institute of Technology has offered additional facilities for 2,000 more students. The institute maintains a central library which has 150,000 books and 1,100 e-journals and works for only about 10 hours per day. The Central Library has an e-resource section on the Ground floor, a study section and Library office on the First floor and a separate study room. Library is fully air conditioned and well cleaned. Security is also available on each floor for 24 hours."
