“Anna Centenary Library was built at a cost of ₹172 crores named after former Chief Minister C. N. Annadurai and was opened by M. Karunanidhi. The library saw a significant increase in visitors, growing from 20,000 monthly visitors. Spanning 3.75 lakh sq. ft. across eight floors, it houses a vast collection of 5 lakh books covering various subjects to serve the public, academic, and corporate communities. The library employs 200 staff members, including 96 permanent employees and 40 contract workers. The library features specialised sections such as Braille, children's books, Tamil and English books, periodicals, and a digital library. The library also boasts a Conference Hall with a capacity for 150 people. Anna Centenary Library is a section dedicated to the visually impaired, featuring talking books and Braille displays. The library provides parking space for about 420 cars and 1,030 two-wheelers.”
