"Central Library aims to build collections by collaborating with leading libraries to provide relevant information. It also strives to create tools that support research, teaching, and learning. The library works to ensure seamless access to complete and unique collections for their stakeholders. Central Library is committed to preserving and ensuring the long-term availability of their resources. The Library houses over 250,000 documents, including technical books, reports, standards, CD-ROMs, audio-visual educational materials, and back volumes of journals. The library subscribes to 83 print periodicals, more than 8,210 e-journals, and 1,995 e-books. The collection also includes 17,690 back volumes of journals and offers 16,750 books through its Book Bank scheme. Additionally, the library holds over 8617reports, more than 800 competitive exam guides, 1,601 CD-ROMs, 2,378 theses and projects, and 9 daily newspapers, providing a wide range of resources for academic and personal growth.

2026 Update: Central Library provides 35 computer systems with internet access. Wi-Fi is also available for laptop users. The library is dedicated to ensuring the preservation and long-term availability of its collections and resources."

Feeling quite happy to have donated today morning my children's Computer Science Engineering college books costing several thousands, though valued priceless, to this Central District Library, Trichy. Big thanks to the staff who helped in receiving the loads of books even though the library was just then opened! My little contribution to the students' community!

Library was good enough in size. They were arranged exhibition on Ancient Things and rare collection. It was very nice to see and it's very different and unique collections have been showcased there.

My favourite library , only 10 rupees yearly membership, we can read all of the books

Very big and spacious building Its having G+3 floors. Its design is very nice, There are different section according to specialization. There is study room at the ground floor and good facility for studying.

Central library nit trichy.this building near about sports center. In Central library all books are available like b.tech,m.tech,Mba,Mca,and msc..phd ..etc. Wonderful design in this building in nit trichy. Visit this building and read book.for your knowledge. Thank you all.

Awesome place to study. in the library lots of hall and free wi-fi available .you can sit in any hall and study

READERS ZONE REVIEWS

First of its kind in the whole state. An open Library in the streets open to anyone and everyone 24/7 to start with the collection is small but growing. At any given point of time someone is always there reading something. The place is well located in a cut road. Away from traffic so less amount of noise. Well lit areas and good tables and chairs are provided. The surrounding is also clean and hygienic. Only problem one would face at eve to night is the mosquito problem. It is well used by the public. A good initiative.

This is a new indicative by corporation of trichy to encourage the use of libraries for the public. Hear you can lean a book and get a book..

Good place for readers.. You can give a book & get a book..nice ..
