"All India Institute of Medical Sciences is a Public University of Medical and Medical Research. The college operates autonomously under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. AIIMS runs various undergraduate courses in medicine, nursing and related areas and postgraduate courses in virtually all the basic and clinical medical specialities and super specialities. AIIMS specialises in paramedical and basic science training for its undergraduates; teaching and research are conducted in 42 disciplines. AIIMS also manages a 60-bedded hospital in the Comprehensive Rural Health Centre at Ballabgarh in Haryana and provides health cover to about 2.5 lakh people through the Centre for Community Medicine. 2026 Update: . The college admits 125 Indian students to the MBBS course every year, including 51 from the General category, 34 from OBC, 12 from EWS, 19 from Scheduled Caste, and 9 from Scheduled Tribe, with a 5% horizontal reservation for persons with disabilities (PWD). Additionally, seven foreign national students are admitted annually. Since 2020, admissions have been based on merit through the NEET exam conducted by the National Testing Agency."
