SONERI MAHAL
Since 1979
“Soneri Mahal is a Rajput fortress showcasing traditional Indian architecture. The expansive two-story museum is constructed in the traditional Rajput style, nestled within a garden-adorned palace featuring a grand rectangular gateway known as Hathikhana, which translates to "elephants' place." The Sunheri Mahal, crafted from lime and stone, boasts an exquisite entrance highlighted by graceful arches. Within the Palace, a museum exhibits ancient pottery, paintings, household artefacts, antiques, and remnants from local palaces. It also houses numerous statues and sculptures. This museum serves as the venue for the Ajanta and Ellora cave festivals.
