Best Museums in Jabalpur, MP

It was quite interesting that we hadn’t gone to the museum ever. It was ana amazing collection of sculptures from 9-11th century period when the Kalchuri dynasty ruled in this area. Mammi was bored a little. There was an entire section on life of Gond Tribe. Chausath yogini, uma maheshwar from madla, satna area. Jain tirthankaras, buddhist, ganesh, vishnu and shiva. There were a couple statues kept outside in the open, deteriorating. We thought how heritage isn’t quite something that present we value. With such a rich history, it saddens me to see such absence of care for precious sculptures.

It is a good place to visit for those who really like the museum and keen to learn about historical things and places. There are lots of idols mainly of the 10th and 11th century. There are old coins also which were used during different dynasties. I like this place very much and visit it as I get time. One must visit and specially students would get knowledge of our history from here.

Old sculptures, copper plates, antique articraft, old coins displayed in this museum dates back to 2nd century. Jain and Hindu sculpture and their intricate works will make you proud of the creativity and expertise of your ancestors. Small but informative.

Wonderful collection of ARMS of various era,s Only museum of its own kind, collection of around 3k plus arms of various types.

Great place, one of the rarely museums in india having such Arms and eqpt.
