The best time to visit is in the late afternoon, allowing time to explore both the museum and the gardens before enjoying the evening show.

One of my favorite places in Kolkata. This place is full of wonders, especially the sculptures here are a treat to the eyes. They also have a good collection of fossils and minerals. But every time I visit them, I find a few of their rooms locked and I have seen a good collection of fibers when I was really young but never found that room again. Probably they just closed that portion off. It can be maintained in a better way but nevertheless, it's still a wonder to visit. It takes 4-5 hours if you want to visit it thoroughly.

It's a great collection of art and science artifacts. I really love the sculpture section. Also, the paleontology section has a huge collection of fossils. It's all housed in a 200 year old, beautiful white building. They also have a cafeteria which provides cheap meal options.
