“SPS Museum is one of the finest museums in the region in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir. The Museum was originally constructed within the Maharaja's Summer Guest House in 1898, and it primarily houses collections transferred from the State of Toshkhana. Dedicated to one of Kashmir's monarchs, the museum boasts a captivating blend of modern and traditional architecture, housing a treasure trove of artefacts within its galleries. With a collection comprising approximately 79,595 items and objects, the museum covers a diverse range of subjects including archaeology, numismatics, decorative art, and various traditional products reflecting local culture. Its extensive collection includes 1992 sculptures, 680 paintings, 2399 manuscripts, and more. Serving as a custodian of the state's rich cultural heritage, the museum preserves archival records, archaeological monuments, and antiquities.
