"Ramnagar Fort is built with red sandstone, contains a temple and a museum. The temple is dedicated to Ved Vyas. The museum contains a collection of vintage cars, palanquins, swords, antique guns, ivory work, and antique clocks. Ramnagar Fort is divided into five galleries: vintage cars and palanquins, textiles, armoury, personal decorative items, and historical photographs. The palace is carefully designed and is decorated with lights and festivities during the Dussehra festival. This sandstone building served as the home of the royals for about 400 years.

2026 Update: Ramnagar Fort was built by Kashi Naresh Maharaja Balwant Singh in 1750. Inscriptions on the outer ramparts date back to the seventeenth century."

The rhythmic chants, the synchronized movements of the priests, the glow of the lamps reflecting on the sacred river—everything comes together to create a divine and mesmerizing atmosphere. The moment you step into the ghat, you can feel the spiritual energy and devotion in the air. If you’re visiting Varanasi, this is an absolute must-visit. The experience is not just about watching a ritual; it’s about feeling the essence of faith, tradition, and the timeless charm of the Ganges.

This fort is situated just on the opposite side of varanasi ghats. This is one of the most important forts in that region . This famous historical place is built by red sandstone and this fort has a museum, mandir and more historical things. Also you can go to the top of the museum by underground way and enjoy the beautiful sunset.. This fort was built in Mughal style in 1750.

I recently visited Ramnagar Fort and was impressed by its rich history and stunning architecture. The museum, featuring artifacts from the royal era, was a highlight. The sunset views were unforgettable.

Very interesting and the museum too, very dusty though and uncared for but interesting textile and clothing collection. The gun and knife exhibit was very taken care of and interesting for armament lovers. Incredible view from the outside balconies and Vishnu temple.

There are so many ghats to see. I walked many of them, but due to time constraints, I decided to hire a boat so I could cover all of them. Manikarnika Ghat is one of the city's oldest ghats. This iconic site is a storied spot for traditional Hindu cremations. It is believed that a human's soul attains moksha and hence breaks the cycle of rebirth when cremated here.
