Karnataka College Dharwad established in 1917 was formerly Headquarter building for southern Maratha Railway Rodda srinivas Rao was the main instrumentalist in establishing this institution.This structure is in Gothic architecture with huge spacious class rooms with excellent ventilation, flooring and space There is a science and commerce department as well with degrees and diplomas in various disciplines. This is a huge campus with two grounds and a law college in its second campus The old building has a functioning clock tower and retains its Nostalgic regalia.The machinery of the this clock was brought from Glasgow UK . The Botany department has its own beautiful botanical garden in its campus. Many great persons have been alumini of this college.
