“The National Library of India has a history of over 100 years and is one of the largest publishers of works in multiple languages, housing an extensive collection of 2.5 million books. The library spans about 130 acres and contains nearly 200,000 volumes along with 500,000 ancient manuscripts. Each year, over 18,000 visitors access its vast collection of books, magazines, and journals, benefiting researchers, scholars, and general readers alike. The library collects books, periodicals, and publications in nearly all Indian languages. The National Library of India's special collections include works in at least fifteen languages. Their Hindi department houses books dating back to the nineteenth century, including the first-ever printed works in the language. The library's collections also feature 86,000 maps and 3,200 manuscripts. In addition, they have dedicated sections for Indian languages such as Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.”
