3 Best Museums in Guwahati, AS

It was my great pleasure to visit such a beautiful and vast museum. One fine Sunday afternoon I didn't have any work and I checked the map there was a state museum and curiously entered there after checking a few reviews. This museum is under renovation but surprisingly it's still huge, there was a proper floor map to guide me. The ground floor is for sculptures, every piece with all the details and their origin, you need to have a bit of research to know about ancient Indian history, that will be beneficial. There was an armoury The 1st floor consists of Assam history, also there is a part of local traditional things, like wooden masks, old stone inscription, leaf scroll, metal scroll I wish I had a bit more time to explore in detail.

Had a pleasant time in this museum. Ticket price for adults is 20 and if bought online, then 2 rupees extra will have to be spent. The museum closes at 5 PM. The museum is huge and has a large collection of ancient relics. Very good collection of old statues, cannons and guns, manuscripts and paintings. Important pieces of Assamese history can be found here. The thing that really stood out was some Japanese stuff from the World War 2 era. Highly recommend this place to someone looking to spend some time in and around Dighalipukhuri.

One of the best places to explore in Guwahati. The ticket cost 35 rupees for the entry and also it cost additional fees if you opted for other services as well like if you wanted to attend a show in planetarium, coal mining and other shows etc. It has an amazing playground which depicts all the science facts behind the machine through fun activities. Also it has an aquarium and park where there are various details about various fishes, dinosaurs are displayed along with their sculptures. Their chemistry and other sections are mind blowing. This place is not only for kids but also for adults. One of the best museums I've ever visited. I would highly recommend this museum to give a visit.

Great place to be with your family and kids. You're kids gonna love this place. Parking area is small. You need to buy Extra ticket for 3D hall and coal mine at the gate while buying entry ticket. The prehistoric area is even better for the kids. It's not overly crowded that's a good thing. There is a small restaurant like shop inside the campus. Overall it's a nice place to spend some quality time with your family and kids.

A very nice place to learn about Northeast Indian culture. Srimanta Sankaradev Kalakshetra is a cultural institution in Guwahati, Assam, India. It includes a cultural museum, library, a children's park and various facilities for preserving, demonstrating and performing cultural items and history. It's a largest cultural congregation of Northeast India. The Kalakshetra is also a nice and attractive tourist spot in Guwahati. India's World famous musician and singer Bharat Ratna Bhupen Hazarika musium is also located in this place. But the sad news is, Kalakshetra is not so disable friendly. There are so many staircase in the building, that's why people with wheelchair, can't watch all the parts of this musium.

This beautiful place attracts a large number of tourists on a daily basis... It is the best place for those who wants know the rich and divers culture of Assam... It has a museum, an art gallery, park for children and many more... The ticket price is just 30 rupees per adult... Highly recommended to everyone..
