“Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya, located in the heart of South Mumbai near the Gateway of India, is one of the country's most famous cultural institutions. The museum is built in Indo-Saracenic style architecture and is surrounded by a garden with palm trees and formal flower beds. The museum earned first place from the Indian Heritage Society for the exemplary maintenance of the building. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya has around 50,000 artefacts and has an impressive collection of sculptures. Several artefacts in the museum were acquired from Seth Purshottam Mavji, Karl and Meherbai Khandalavala, and the Archaeological Survey of India. The museum offers a range of learning experiences, including conferences, orientations, teacher training workshops, and seminars for schools.
