BAPU MUSEUM
Since 1887
“Bapu Museum has a large collection of sculptures, paintings, and artifacts related to Buddhist and Hindu relics. It features some of Gandhiji's oldest collections and memorable exhibits. The museum houses a granite statue of Buddha and a white calcareous figure of Buddha in a standing position. Maintained by the Department of Archaeology, it showcases sculptures, paintings, and artifacts from Buddhist and Hindu monuments, some dating back to the 2nd and 3rd centuries. A 3D projection system brings historical events to life, offering visitors an immersive experience of the city's rich history. The museum also has a carefully preserved collection of historic coins. Entry to the museum is free for all visitors.”
