“Dr. Sheikh Irfan Bashir obtained his MBBS from ASCOMS Jammu in 2007. He received orthopaedics training as a postgraduate resident at Government Medical College Jammu until 2010. He trained at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, New Delhi, until 2013. He specialises in advanced techniques in knee and hip surgeries. Dr. Irfan gained expertise in complex primary and revision knee and hip arthroplasty for treating arthritis, reconstructive procedures for ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) and PCL (Posterior Cruciate Ligament), and other sports injuries. He has a special interest in regenerative medicine and received training in orthopaedic regenerative techniques like PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) injections. During his tenure at Apollo, he collaborated with paediatric orthopaedic experts. Dr. Sheikh Irfan Bashir trained in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Government Medical College Srinagar, and he underwent a short training programme in bone and soft tissue tumours at TATA Mumbai. He subsequently worked in tertiary care hospitals in Kashmir, including SMHS Superspeciality Hospital and Bone and Joint Hospital Srinagar.”
