Also called as Bull temple - One of the Oldest Temple in Bangalore - The height of the murthi is approximately 15 ft (4.6 m) & it is approximately 20 feet (6.1 m) long - The temple built by Kempe Gowda, a typical example of the Dravidian style temple

Call for Hours

The best thing about the Bull temple is that it is quite vast and hence the crowd which usually is huge in number, is easily dispersed. The big Bull is a humbling site to behold as he towers over us and is quite impressive. It is one of the biggest bull idols and revered throughout Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. Being the vehicle of Lord Shiva, he also doubles up as the messanger to Lord Shiva. So you can find a lot of devotees pray to the Nandhi and believe that he will convey our prayers to Lord Shiva. In fact, you will find a small Sanctorum Sanctorium just behind the bull. The temple is quite popular with the locals as well as visiting tourists. It has become a big tourist attraction.
