The Kerala State Science and Technology Museum and the Priyadarsini Planetarium operate as autonomous organisations. The Priyadarsini Planetarium, an integral part of the museum, has been operational since 1994, contributing to the museum's status as a significant tourist attraction and a leisure centre for research. The museum is divided into three distinct buildings, featuring nine galleries dedicated to popular science, electronics, robotics, automotive, and mathematics. Additionally, galleries are showcasing over 300 exhibits on energy, electronics, control and motion mechanics, along with displays on popular science.
